As well as seeing the elite athletes from around the world compete in the newly re-opened Copper Box, there was also a chance to meet some of the stars of the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

You were also able to have a go at Paralympic sports like wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball and accessible climbing wall. Anyone was allowed to take part and all activities were supported by professional coaches.

National Paralympic Day

National Paralympic Day was held on September 7, 2013, it was a chance to meet and watch the Paralympic medallists and athletes and to try out sports, a family event marking the first anniversary since the London Paralympic Games in 2012. It was held at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the event included the Liberty Festival a free festival featuring Graeae's 'The Limbless Knight' and a special appearance from singer Andrea Begley, winner of the BBC's 'The Voice'.

About The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park:
A year after the 2012 London Olympic Games, the former Olympic
Park re-opened as the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park - a site of over
250 acres of beautifully landscaped open space and 6.5 km of waterways.

The opening of the north park on Saturday 27th July 2013 was the first phase of transforming the Olympic Park while the rest of the 560 acre park opens in spring 2014.
